2019-08-15 婦女企業認證 Special events at LGCC

 Today is the big day!
I have been working on the WOSB Certification event for 2 months
 
Thanks to LaGuardia Community College SBDC's collaboration
I conduct monthly seminar here, plus a special event today
9:30am-11:30am "Starting a Business at 50+" 
 Thanks Shavan Overstreet, LaGuardia SBDC Office Manager,
for working with me on today's two events.
We modified the flyers several times, responded to questions, and promoted the events far and deep.
87 people registered for the morning event and 119 registered for the afternoon event.

 超過20位婦女商家在此次活動上完成自我認證,離獲得政府合約又進了一步

聯邦小商業局等機構辦活動 鼓勵華裔商家申請政府合約

  政府為少數族裔婦女企業提供許多資源和優惠,而不少符合要求的華裔商家不自知,白白錯過良機。為了向婦女企業家提供資訊并協助完成相關認證,聯邦小商業局(SBA)、拉瓜迪亞社區大學技術協助中心(PTAC)、小商業發展中心(SBDC)於昨(15日)在該大學舉辦活動。

 聯邦小商業局經濟發展專員郭曼麗指出,聯邦政府採購有5%保留給少數族裔,另有5%留給婦女企業,還有3%為「歷史上低度利用地區」(HUB Zone)準備,華埠和法拉盛都屬於該地區,這意味著在該地區營業的華裔婦女企業有機會申請其中的13%。根據最新法規,婦女企業自我認證的要求即將改變,當天有超過20位婦女商家在專家的指導下完成認證,離獲得政府合約又進了一步。

 技術協助中心的顧問林吉米(Jimmy Lam,音譯)強調,由於少數族裔婦女企業獲得政府合約的成功率較高,一些華裔商家就把公司掛在妻子名下,而在面試時妻子一問三不知,被取消申請資格。這種行為屬於欺詐,婦女必須真正管理企業才能申請。

 他發現,一些華裔商家不諳英語,商業計劃書完全由別人代寫,這不利於申請。商家應詳細計劃資金走向、貸款計劃、目標客戶等,才能在眾多申請者中脫穎而出。通常,商家開業后6個月才開始賺錢,商家必須考慮清楚自己的資金是否足夠支撐前期的負擔。此外,一些公司經營多年,而規章制度以及相關文件一直沒有更新。最新法規要求,申請者必須符合最新的法規。

 在法拉盛從事房地產業的黃向欣從6月開始準備申請政府合約,希望拿下市政府的裝修項目。「面臨很多困難,需要完成繁瑣的申請
步驟,但拿到政府合約以後好處多多。」她說,「政府是最大的採購商,與政府簽約就不需要到處找客戶,政府還會提供許多保障和資源。」


小商業發展中心主管費羅拉(Rosa Figueroa)表示,該中心提供聯邦、紐約州和市的少數族裔婦女企業認證,有需要的商家可以致電1718482-5306或發送郵件至ptac@lagcc.cuny.edu預約商業輔導,該中心提供中文翻譯。
