2019-01-30 暴風雪實景 My First Snow Squall

20+ degree this morning.

 View from the office

Around 3pm, Cell Phone ringing, e-mail showing Notify NYC. 

I didn't check it, assuming it is a silver alert as most of the time 

 When I walked to the window,

It was snowing, but is is different 

  The snowflakes chasing each other, upward, upward, to the sky

 

 I went to all the windows to check the special snow squall.

 Walking out of the office building, I took out the umbrella and got ready for the snow

Surprising, no snow at all. 

When I got to Smith St. on F train, I saw the sunset, bright and shining,

waving to me.

 Windy and cold, when I walked out of the Prospect Park Station

 After the bus ride, I got home, the warm place I want to be

2019-01-28 返回辦公室第一天 First Day of Reopen the Government

 After 35 days furloughed, we go back to work today.

I was thrilled, like a 1st grader's first day of school 

 7:40am stepping out of the elevator

 My working station

 My happy corner

 My philosophy/principle

 So happy that the computer is working 

 So happy I am in my world 

 It is nice to come back to work

1,867 emails since 12/26 to date

I left the office around 5:15pm after I cleared 800 emails all day

I still have more than 1,056 messages with today's new messages

I hope I can clear all the old messages by Wednesday.

I gave her 500 fortune cookies for the school.

They came to my place to pick up the fortune cookies, but I had to leave before they arrived.

Alysa Liu became the youngest ladies U.S. Figure Skating Champion yesterday.

2019-01-25 宣告政府關門結束 Announcing Gov Reopen

Government Shutdown Day 35

Thanks to President for announcing the good news this afternoon.

People should applaud to him for this 

because it is not easy for him to make this decision and announce it by himself.

For me, the 35 days furlough is my retreat.
Reading and Writing helped me calm and healthy.

十二月二十一日(星期五)晚上十點四十八分收到華盛頓總部電郵 ，通知隔日起政府關門。因為星期二是耶誕節，局長決定十二月二十六日（星期三）所有員工必須到工作地點執行正式的關閉程序。因為我已經歷多次政府關門，所以心情依舊清風明月地過了耶誕節。

耶誕節後的週三到辦公室，按照指示將全國統一的訊息設定了電腦的自動答覆及電話錄音，參加會議聽取各項規定後，大家互道再見。當時以為元旦前會恢復上班，所以連新年快樂都沒說就回家了，沒想到迎來的是美國最長的一次政府關門。

         隨著與日俱增的戲劇性演變，我認清了只能靜心等待渾沌過去，於是決定開始閉關養心。首先是謝絕電話，因為談論我們無法控制的情況無益於事，只會影響心情，很多時候我反而要安慰想安慰我的對方，但是媽媽的電話除外。第二件事是不出門，因為難得有機會白天在家享受慢活，專心將許久想完成的一些學習完成。第三是保持作息正常，所以四個星期足不出戶，有機會定時三餐，清光冰箱和櫥櫃積存年月的食品，重溫靜坐與氣功的舊愛

觀看電視新聞是每天最重要的功課，希望看到問題解決，重返工作的喜訊，無意中卻也發現很好的電視節目。每天至少有五個小時由不同法官在法庭判案的實例最吸引我，除了學習法律知識及回答法官問話時的要訣外，對於各種訴訟的原因及要求，更讓我見識了人心的貪婪及狡辯的無恥。

記錄地球生物科學的Planet Earth Series 讓我對於攝影團隊追蹤動物的殘酷競爭所費的心力及精美的技術歎為觀止，我看到所有動物的母親及大部份的父親為了養育保護子女的付出與犧牲，反而對比出人類的不如。過去聽到「人身難得」只是知沒有悟，有時還是會憧憬鳶飛魚游的悠遊，這些動物讓我深深感受了「人身難得」，真的不能不珍惜，好好使用以利眾生。

         當我收到摯友關切我們沒有薪資「如果有困難，請讓我知道」的訊息時，溫潤了我的心和眼。我想到平日有財務困難的同事也許真的需要幫助，於是聯絡他們。一位正在檢驗癌症復發的同事感謝我的傾聽，他的確害怕無力償還他的卡債，工作的不確定的確給他無比的壓力。

    除了安定自己外，最擔心的是原訂在這段期間和我舉辦活動的合作組織們，因為沒有人知道何時可以重新訂日期，所以懸在心上的是很多人的期待。感謝關心我的親友們，讓我安靜地整理我的思緒及調整生活。

當然有人無動於衷，當然有人幸災樂禍，當然有人會落井下石，但是生命中的陰霾永遠是一種警示，是一項挑戰，也是一段激流，但不必是渾沌，不必是沉淪，更不必是無助的。

2019-01-17 地球生態週結束 Planet Earth Week

Government shutdown day 27.

Thanks to the BBC "Planet Earth" week,

I have learned so much about the planet that I live on.

Definitely we should save the earth because we are human beings.

Sea animals were carved on the rocks on the high mountains.

 Even a whale was carved on a rock.

 Blue whales

 Mobula rays flying

Mothers' love keeps the lives on the earth.

I am so lucky that I am a mother too.
